Hi, I'm a new subscriber to this list and already have a question. We are using MapInfo in oder to produce an atlas containing thematic maps, for two different portions of the territory (1- the city, with its neighbourhoods; 2-the larger agglomeration). Since the atlas will include commentaries on each maps, we are exporting the finished maps into InDesign, using the wmf format. However we get a recurrent problem : the maps appears rotated in InDesign. This doesn't affect all maps, but succeeds randomly, without any pattern.
Usually when we import the map, it appears correctly on the display screen, but when we print it, it's rotated by 180 ; after printing, the maps also appears rotated in the display screen. We have tried to rotated the pictures before printing.. but that doesn't fix the problem, because it occurs randomly, which is very noyous. It doesn't succeed when we are exporting in Tiff format, only when using wmf, but the Tiff format being a raster format doesn't offer the same output quality. Does anyone export maps to InDesign ? Did anyone already encounter that problem with InDesing or other software ? Is there any way to solve it ? What kind of workflow are you using to import MapInfo maps in softwares like InDesign, PageMaker or QuarkXpress ? Complementary information : We are using MapInfo 7.5, release build 23 and Adobe InDesign 2.02; We are proofing on this printer : Xeros Phaser 7300DX The city's maps are rotated by -20 in MapInfo, but the Agglomeration's maps aren't rotated; yet both suffer from the problem, both randomly. I don't have that problem when importing into Window. Many thanks in advance for all inputs..
