Company: Meridian GIS Pty Ltd.

Meridian GIS is proud to announce the release of MappaMI.

MappaMI is a set of processes and tools for MapInfo that have been
developed to help in the creation and validation of structured or
"topologically correct" linework and polygons. These processes consist
of Digitize Linework, Check Linework, Extend and Break, Create Polygons,
Attribute Polygons and Symbolize Polygons.

Many MapInfo users are faced with the task of capturing and cleaning
spatial data, but unfortunately this simple request can often become the
most difficult aspect of a mapping project. An obvious first solution is
to use the standard MapInfo tools, but it quickly becomes apparent that
this is not feasible for all but the simplest of maps.

THE ALTERNATIVE IS MappaMI!

Features
--------
Digitizing Styles -

The linework digitizing facility has been developed at the insistence of
users who are required to use MapInfo for capturing linework. Using
MappaMI, users can create linework styles to assist in the symbolization
and attribution process.

Linework Correction Tools -

The Linework Correction facility covers the use of the Fix Linework,
View Previous/Next Error Flags and finally the Delete Error Flag. It has
been developed to assist in the correction of errors flagged during the
Check Linework process and not corrected using the automated Extend and
Break Linework process. After running Check Linework, if there are any
errors, the number and type will be displayed in the MappaMI Message
dialog box.

Create Polygons -

Polygon creation is a procedure that uses the linework layer in the
Linework Layer drop-down to create polygons that represent all the
possible areas that can be constructed from that linework.

Attribute Polygons -

This procedure takes created polygons from the previous step and
determines an enclosed piece of text supplied by the user. It then loads
the value of this into the POLY_ID field of the associated record in the
polygon table.

Symbolize Polygons -

This is the final of the most commonly used MappaMI utilities and
provides a method to symbolize the polygons in a way that utilizes the
attribute in the POLY_ID field associated with each polygon. The MappaMI
symbolization tables can be created and used once and or stored for use
with multiple tables with similar attribute information, or created from
an existing map and used to symbolize a new polygon table.

You are invited to download a fully functioning copy of MappaMI from the
Meridian GIS home page (www.meridian-gis.com.au). Please do not
hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions regarding the
many functions of MappaMI, or would like a demo license to trial the
application.
