Yes, if one 'exports' the table in ASCII format, the COLUMNS are included.  The
only problem is, the fact of course is an extanous file generated which would
also have to be named, saved then pre processed to remove the text qualifiers
(double quotes).  Other than that, the tabbed delimited format would allow for
pasting directly to an Excel spreadsheet.

Define "simple."

But I don't think you can use "cut and paste" to copy headers. I 
don't recollect exactly, but does ASCII Export include the column names?
