Try converting the image to a plain .bmp (bitmap image) Resample it down to a minimum of 32x32 pixels, color type 8-bit palleted (system colors). I think there is also a limit on the actual file size of 2,024 bytes (2kb).
Place the bmp file in your Mapinfo "CustSymb" directory, restart MI if already open, then reopen MI, double click the object, and chose custom symbol from the font menu and look for your new symbol. Takes a bit of tweaking but once done, you'll get the hang of it. __________________________ David W. I have a tool that allows for the creation of custom symbols in MapInfo---however I do not know how to get the image from Illustrator into MapInfo-- I tried to create a .tiff file but realized that everywhere the tree isn't is white---and when imported into the map doesn't look right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
