Thanks for the response Martin. To expand upon my problem: I sent the client tab files and did not include any workspace files. The error he gets when trying to open the tables is - "cannot read table 'tablename'. Version 7.0 of MapInfo can read it. Unable to open table 'tablename'".
Looking at the table contents, which was created by another user, they have a clipping boundary which appears to be included in the table. Is this clipping boundary the source of the problem? The workspaces are a different matter. At the head of the workspace there's a line something like: !Workspace !Version 600 If the workspace does not contain any features not supported by the earlier version, then editing the version number should allow the workspace to be opened in the appropriate version of Mapinfo. I see I can save to MapInfo 2x, DBF, etc.; what is the best way to convert the data to a format he can use?
