MI-L Grid Maker

I was wondering whether anybody could help me.  I have used Grid Maker to 
create a grid surface map so that I can analyse where a greater abundance of 
people are located.  The main reason for utilising this type of analysis is 
so that the confidentiality of these people can be maintained.  My question 
is,  how accurate is this type of mapping?  I have used 500-meter grid 
squares.
