it's to do with your DPI settings. it's been a long time since i learnt all that stuff, but basically DPI is irrelevant for images for a display screen, all that matters is the number of pixels. i think MI tries to fudge the figgers based on old-school thinking, but in the end leave your settings at the default 96 DPI and change stuff based on how big you want the image.
