Two things: Rather than translating, I believe you can open the shp file up directly in MI Pro. Just change the file type you're looking for.
Next, would a possible solution be to create a new tab file by opening the dbf file, and geocoding it into a tab file? Just some thoughts........... E.N.D. -----Original Message----- From: Alan Gunn [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, July 29, 2004 12:10 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: MI-L Translating shapefiles I am having troubles with trying to translate this new shapefile. Now I know that a shapefile consists of shp, shx and a dbf, but this one also has some files with the extensions sbn, ixs, and mxs. I noticed that it is missing an shx. I assume that the translator looks for the default files that compose a shapfile and then does its thing, but since it is missing the shx file the thing it does can't be done. Has anyone heard of some of those other file types? Might their be an shx file in disguise? Anyway around this? Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Alan Alan Gunn Residential Strategies, Inc.
