Sorry, I should have specified where the accelleration slider is located.

You can acess the display hardware accelleration slider in Win98 and 2000 (and I
think NT) like so:

Right click on blank space of Desktop, click "Properties"

Click the "Settings" Tab and the "Advanced" button lower right.

Click the "Performance" tab.

You should see "Graphics" "Hardware acceleration: None [] Full

Lower that by one movement, reboot when/if asked to, repeat until problem is
solved or if it is not solved, you may want to return to that property dialog
and move your acceleration back up to what it was before.

"Your milage may very". "Cooking time veries by elevation" and all those other
good disclaimers :))

I had that same problem the other day when working with labels. Somehow, my
problem just went away, came back briefly, and went away again. I actually
posted a thread on it and got some replies:

Sorry, but I don't have much advice to give. It seems to be a common problem.
David Reid mentioned lowering your "hardware acceleration on your graphics
card". I was going to try this, but wasn't sure where to find the acceleration
rate when I looked in the advanced display settings or what it might also be
known as.

Subject: MI-L MI locks up after moving labels, and returning to output scale

Hi,

I am manually moving labels that overlap. When I am fininshed with an area, I
zoom previous to return to my output scale view. Most of the time, if I save my
workspace I am ok, but if I do not save my workspace after each change in view,
the program locks up, and must be stoped with the Task Manager. Anyone have
this problem also? Any ideas on how to not have to save my workspace after
every zoom change?

TIA,

Jesse Wellman
