Thank you, TAB_INFO_TABFILE works fine.

You could use TableInfo(1, TAB_INFO_TABFILE) to get the name of the file in the filesystem.

I found similar behaviour with table names:
If I create a table with long name, let's say
C234567890123456789012345678901234567890.TAB, MapInfo truncates the name
for the internal use to 30 characters, e.g.
C23456789012345678901234567890! The actual file name is not altered.
TableInfo(1,1) also returns C23456789012345678901234567890 (supposing only
1 table is open).
Is there any other function that will return the true name?
