I had over 10 000 files named ~MAPXXXX.tmp in my temp directory.
Deleting these files solved the problem.

Thanks very much

Simon

I think this might have been around the list before, and as I remember
it, the problem was the temp folder. Try deleting the files from your
temp folder.

It is located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Temp

Remember that hidden files and folders must not be hidden. If so you
can't see the folder.

Subject: MI-L MapInfo crash

Hi

Everything was working perfectly when MapInfo hung on a small simple
query. I killed the program via Windows task manager. Since then, I am
not able to do any query, browse any selection or open any workspace. I
got no error message, only a sandglass cursor is diplayed.

I uninstalled the program, removed the MapInfo install directory and all
the MapInfo related directories in Documents and settings. After
reinstalling, it is still doing the same thing.

I am running MapInfo Pro 7.5 on a windows 2000 Pro sp4 system

Any idea on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Simon
