Hi David,

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to just open the shapefile directly
in MapInfo. There shouldn't be a need to translate it to MIF. Why do you
need to translate?

Subject: MI-L Platte Caree support in MI 7?

Hi all,

I have a shapefile with a prj file that denotes the CS as Platte Caree
and when I use MI 7's Universal Translator
to translate from shp to mif the "Use projection setting in source file"
option becomes enabled and I check it to make sure MI uses it in
translation.
When I translate the data however the datas cs is not being recognised
according to contents of the prj. Any idea why this may be?

thanks

David
