Yes,
Buffers are stored in the editable table when they are created, if you have
a separate table to hold the buffers, and that's a good idea, then the
buffer table must exactly match the structure of the point table, including
field order.  When you buffer, check the aggregation box, and be sure that
all fields are set to VALUE.  Depredating on the version of MI you have, the
aggregation dialog may allow you to specify which fields from one table will
up date which field in the other.  However, if the data types and field
sizes don't match, you will not have good luck.

Subject: MI-L Question about Buffers


Is it possible to create buffers around a number of points so that the
buffer polygons retain the point data?  Specifically, I have geocoded a
number of bank branches.  I want to create a .25 mile buffer around
each.  I want these buffer polygons to have the data associated with the
point from which they were created.  The buffers I have created appear
to be empty polygons.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
