Hello All,

I have a problem. I am creating a map that is 40" wide and 40" long. When I create
the layout the map scale is not the same as what is on the map window. This is what I
do:
        - create map
        - create layout with the size of frame that covers the area I need
        - click scale bar tool
        - click on layout and say rectify map to layout size
        - this creates a wide map window
        - then I measure distances on the map and on the layout
        - they are different
        - then to test I click the scale bar tool again and rectify layout to map
frame...this shrinks the width of the layout to 27"
        - the map window seems to have a set width that does not allow for large
layout windows

What gives?? This is a really inconvenient limit within the program. How can it be
gotten around?

Cheers,

Subject: MI-L MI-L: Mapinfo fails to recognize rasters

Hello Group,

I've installed Mapinfo professional on my workstation, but anytime I attempt
to open a raster table, mapinfo returns an "unable to open" or a "invalid
format" msg. The raster I am attempting to open is a nautical chart(*.kap)
which is then converted to a *.tab This works fine on other workstations,
except mine. Any ideas?

Best,
-Vitad
