Thanks to everyone who replied with tips on autotrace, especially to Peter
M�ller. I have a handle on the autotrace now due mainly to his
email-help-file as I am going to call it.

I agree that it is a very useful tool. It would have made some of my work
easier had I known before that it existed. I will be using it from now on,
though.

I find the autotrace often doesn't work well when you have multiple features
on top of each other - even in different layers. Could that be an
explanation? Also the fact Peter mentioned about lines split into small bits
tends to ruin the performance.
But other than that it's brilliant.
