Thanks Jacques,

I now understand why it only works some of the time as well. I have tried
to use undo the reverse a change to point style that I have done for a
number of objects (well over 10), and noticed it did not work. It probably
explains this in the manual someplace, but I probably missed it. Thanks for
the info.

I do agree that it is poor design. Especially the capability to have
multiple undo instances stored is possible. Maybe the MapInfo folks are
listening and will improve on this area.

Concerning the undo question that started with version 4.00 The number 10 is
the number of objects implied in the last edit operation (for ex. changing
the colour of a number of selected objects in one shot), it is not the
number of previous edit operations one wish to undo. MI remembers only of
the last one and only if it implied less than "10" objects

WAD but poorly designed, eh?

Hi Peter and everyone else on the list,

I noticed the same problem with 7.0 on my computer too. I now have 7.8 and
I see the same problem, only worse. I thought it was just one of the many
quirks about MapInfo you have to live with. Hadn't been too much of a
concern before, but is becoming more annoying as time passes.

I've noticed something else too. I can only UNDO once. I have the maximum
number of undo's set to 10 in the preferences, but MapInfo has only ever
allowed one. Occasionally I realise something I did wrong and need to take
it back a few actions. Since I can only do it once, I have to revert the
TAB or close it and use a backup TAB. This is very annoying.

Anyone know something about these items and how to fix them.

                         Hi all,
since changing to Mapinfo 7.8 my window
graphics seem to be more unstable than usual
................................ the appearance of layers completely or
partly disappear but are rectitied by panning / zooming or redrawing the
window something that occasionally happened in 7.5 but seems to be more
occasional in 7.8. Not a big problem but one that can be annoying.
Wondering if anyone else had noticed a change since upgrading to 7.8 ?
My PC is the same as I was running 7.5 on.

                                                      Regards
                                                                 Peter
