Hi Matt, Have you tried using the save window as command in the file menu? Set Acrobat Distiller (if you have it) as your printer, and adjust your page size under custom page size in the advanced tab. Remember you cannot save more than 9000X9000 pixels, so you may need to tile your image by cutting the paper size in half and then moving the layout window over the background (I use the align objects command.) Or, you could reduce your resolution. I find that 200-250 DPI is usually all I need with aerial photography. Once the tiles are created, they can be put back together in Photoshop, etc... Of course, if your plot isn't too big, you won't need to worry about tiling it out.
That may sound like a lot to chew on, but it works efficiently once practiced. I have successfully created large aerial murals (8'X16' for example) using this method. Good Luck! When I print an A0 Portrait layout with a raster image in the background, it looks fine on the screen. However, when I print it, it stretches the raster image in the background, so that any overlying vectors are displaced with associated features on the raster image. This appears to be worst at the bottom of the layout (ie. at the top, it lines up ok, but at the bottom, it is very displaced). This occurs for any plotter I use, and have tried printing to a Postscript file and converting to a PDF. It only happens for one layout that is a fairly large print file size. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way around it?
