Jim,
You can use Grid Analyser (free trial available at www.terris.sk) to convert the polygons to grid via
Utils >>> Vector<>Raster >>> Region to raster
and then calculate slope and aspect. Be precise when specifying dimensions of the grid so the cells of the grid match exactly the polygons (I assume these are squares).
