why don't you export to mid/mif from AutoCadMAP?  Use the mapexport command,
only export entities which have object data in the same table, tick the "Map
Object Data to Data Element" button and it will come through just fine.
Be aware that it doesn't matter what projection or conversion you specify,
AutoCadMAP will write the projection line of the mid/mif as unprojected
LatLong, so you will have to edit this line to match the actual projection
of your data.
