MI-L Label on same side of polyline: possible

I am trying to put labels on polyline objets, such that they always fall to 
the same side (e.g. to the left) of the polyline (depending on its 
direction). Is this possible in an easy way ? The anchor point positions top 
and bottom do not seem to be related to the direction of the polyline.
