Hi Ali, Yes, this is normal. Excel files are readonly in MapInfo - Access databases can be opened and edited on the other hand.
Kind regards Uffe Kousgaard www.routeware.dk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ali, Naz @ Vancouver" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "MI-L (E-mail)" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 03, 2005 7:01 PM Subject: MI-L Excel Databases Hi Everyone: When I import an Excel worksheet as a table into MapInfo (to geocode, for example), I find that I cannot edit the records (it becomes read-only). In order to edit any records, add or eliminate, I have to copy as something else. However, if I create a new table or import from Access, it can be edited. Is this normal? Doesn't matter which version of MI I am using! I currently use 7.8.
