Uffe
I intend to model the travel patterns of offenders from home to incident. It is an application of standard transportation models to crime patterns. It is part of the next version of CrimeStat which should be released soon. I have maps of surface streets and expressways. However, as many incidents occur close to rapid transit stations, I would like to incorporate that mode of transportation.

Hello Richard,

Specify your needs / requirements for the modelling and it will probably
be easier to give some advice on where to go. What kind of problem are
you trying to solve? It is probably not just making a nice-looking map.

Kind regards

I would like to create a rapid transit network for Chicago with lines connecting the stations and the distance between successive stations measured. Each station should be a node. I have the x and y coordinates of each station. There are multiple lines and some stations serve more than one line. I can connect the dots use the kgm utilities, but I don't know where to go from there.

Thanks for your help
