I too ran into this a couple years ago, at least I think it is the same as
you describe. The issue is with a documented bug in MS Access beginning at
least with Access '97 and the way it deals with [Event Procedure]'s when a
database is duplicated irregardless of exporting or simple coping.

After some research at MS's knowledge base and several independent Access
related user forums, I finally, successfully duplicated a database (with
intensive customer search/lookup forms) to another database and location by
first breaking all the links AND removing all the calls to the Event
Procedure's of the original database, creating the duplicate, then
re-instating/rebuilding the links and calls to event procedures.

It was a terrible pain in the arse and required a lot of note taking and
documenting what was undone so it could be re-done.

As I seem to recall, even though you break the call to the event procedures,
the actual scripting remains in the forms, so it's just a matter of
re-enstating the correct call to the correct procedure.

Possibly someone has found a fix or a patch to eliminate all this, I haven't
revisted it since I initially had to.

HTH, good luck.

Subject: MI-L Problem with copied MS Access database with linked tables

Hi There

I have a MS database which is linked to directly by Mapinfo through opening
the Acces tables. The database is a copy of one that was on the server of
another company. A second database held a series of lookup tables which are
linked to by the first database and has also been copied. I have
re-established the link path between the databases. Now when I try to use
any table that contains the lookup lists from within Access the application
crashes and quits. I have tried to delete the linked tables so I can
reimport them but this also crashes Access. I am using Access 2002 on Win
2000 prof. The database is in Access 2000 format. Can anyone help with
this or point me to an Access discussion list that might have the answer.

            Cheers

                Steve
