Hi,
It's probably due to the fact that MapInfo couldn't open all the tables in
your workspace. If a single table is missing, then the layout window
doesn't open. MapInfo is very picky on this subject. There are several
actions you could take in order to avoid that.
1) Your best bet may be to keep the same directory structure on your
laptop as on your other computer. Not so simple if you have different
drives names.
2) You can tell MapInfo where to look for tables by default.. this may
help somewhat..
3) One MapInfo member (Stephen Chan at [EMAIL PROTECTED]) has
created an MBX tool allowing you to look for missing documents, or telling
MapInfo to ignore the missing tables in a workspace.. I've not been able
to use it successfully in all cases, because it seems to have some
problems with French versions of MIP (particularly when accents are
present in the directory names). But on an English version it will surely
be a great help to you.
Stephen Chan has distributed his little app freely to members of this
list, just ask him..

Hello all,
I've have a bad news, good news scenario: Good news, I have a new
laptop. Bad news, I can get all of my TAB files to come up, but none of
my workspaces. I have to tell MapInfo where to get all the files from,
which works fine and everything comes up, but when it gets to the layout
window the program shuts down. Any ideas? Thanks
