Hi Christine I have found this problem occurs even if I know the projection of the shp files, e.g. if I get a series of shp files from one source, which I assume (perhaps wrongly) they use same projection for all of their shp files, I commonly find some shp files load with map entities, others don't.
It would be nice if shp files contained a reference to their original projection. I know when I've imported it automatically goes to default of Lat and Long, however most of the shape files I'm using are in a NAD 83 BC Albers projection. I'm using MapInfo 7.8 so hope this is of some help. I imported the .shp file into MapInfo Pro 6.5 (successfully) and the data shows up in the table when I go to WINDOW -> NEW BROWSER WINDOW, but the map itself does not show up. Does anyone have any thoughts on my problem. Thank you. ______________________________ Jake Posey [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hamilton Beattie & Staff 102 South 10th Street Fernandina Beach FL 32034 p 904.491.0591 f 904.4910594 cell - (904) 556-5537 4201 Connecticut Ave, Suite 212 Washington DC 20008 p 202.686.5900 f 202.686.7080 --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 15615 --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 15617 --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 15618
