Hi all, I received a number of helpful replies regarding my query yesterday about numerous blank A4 pages openingt in a Layout Window.
I followed the solution provided by Tim Nuteson (and similarly by Jason McMahan), which solved the problem: "There is probably some object that got mistakenly placed way out there, causing the layout to grow to accommodate it. Go into the layout in MI, select everything that should be there (ie. on the first page), and then invert your selection. If, after inverting, there is something selected, delete it and save the workspace." I wasn't able to find out what was selected after inverting, but it did the trick anyway. Other suggestions were (that I didn't try): Martin Higham: "You'll need to delve into the workspace file and check the 1) Layout statement - which defines the height and width of the layout window; 2) Set Layout statement - which defines the extents; 3) Set Window statement - (after the layout statement) which defines the printer used for that layout." Mike Kilmore: "Make sure your laptop has the same printer driver as the client's machines, with identical settings. You may have to set each layout to another printer. Maybe set to printer, save the workspace, open it and set back to the original printer? Same MapInfo Pro version, too." Peter Horsbll Mller : "You could check that the page setup actually is the correct paper size. Also try to open the workspace in a text editor and compare the Printer information with printer information from a workspace that behaves correctly And a third thing check if your MapInfo actually reads/writes the printer settings from/to the workspace" Thanks to all once again, Bill --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 15638
