Depends what you call a book, but the french version of the "paper" book has definitly shrunk. Anyway, the information is in a .pdf file indeed. MY Mistake ! As for the previous version of Mapinfo (7.5), I've been through the "books" (paper and pdf), thoroughly, and couldn't find any information about that feature whatsoever. But yes, those projections systems make sense to MI7.5. Same for MI7.0, but the check was very quick : no pdf, only a user's guide and no trace of that feature either Looks like the french version of the books were not so accurate and certainly not uptodate ! If you didn't install it, it will be on your installation CD. Check the table at the top of p477 (English version), which says that if a projection number has 2000 added to it then it has explicit bounds after the normal coordinate system clause. This feature has been in MI Pro for quite a few years. Constant added to projection number ----------------------------------- 1000 System has affine transformations Affine units specifier and coefficients appear after the regular parameters for the system. 2000 System has explicit bounds Bounds appear after the regular parameters for the system. 3000 System with both affine and bounds Affine parameters follow system's parameters bounds follow affine parameters.
