We have a Scalix email server which is corrupting MapInfo file
type(tab,id,map, dat)and only MapInfo file type, on sending or receiving.
It even targets them in ZIP format. Has anyone had this issue or similar
that can help to find the smoking gun.....
The problem varies from changes in : Name
File size
file extension
I have included a dialog between the IT and tech support for scalix
Any ideas on a solution would be welcome.....
Thanks

Mike,
we are at this point:

Hi Alvaro,
We've been trying to recreate the problem ... we have some success doing
so with the .TAB file ... Because it is transmitted as "text" the mail
clients and mail system are at liberty to manipulate the CR/LF at the
end of the line. This is following the RFCs. Somehow forcing the mail
client to flag it as a "binary" attachment will tend to fix this
problem. But this is client dependant.
However while trying to analyse the pattern of errors there is an
instance that does not seem to fit on the graph.
The mail you sent on the 10/2/05, Subject: FW:
rrcc_assets;rrcc_assets;rrcc_assets;rrcc_assets, Body starts "This are
the correct files", apparently sent via Scalix apparently arrived
**here** without corruption.
Was there anything about that transmission that was different to the
corrupted transmissions?
But maybe the files are corrupted anyway. To help check this can you do
an "md5sum" on the raw files and send me the results. Also a directory
list with file sizes ("ls -la").
Best Regards
Gordon.
