I don't know the answer, but I had a similar problem a while ago when running MI from a server - I only changed the label background and MI froze. I had to close down completely and restart. This has only happened when accessing data files from a server - normally I use MI with all data files on the workstation and there has been no problem, so it suggests a server problem to me
