AutoCAD Map 3D now supports direct exporting to Mapinfo TAB and MIF files, you can use object data to populate fields in the TAB, such as block attributes, x/y insertion points, etc.
If you convert AutoCAD drawings frequently you should consider upgrading to Map 3D. I have tried using Universal translator a few times (dxf to tab) and there have been output errors and no tab files have been created. Is this due to problems reading AutoCAD text and symbols; or am I missing something? We receive a large number of drawings from consultants using AutoCAD and I would like to be able to quickly make these drawings useable in MapInfo without manually plotting points, wharf outlines etc. Would it help if the files are exported without symbols, text etc. (only points, lines, areas)? Thanks for any insights, Scott --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 16173
