Hello,

A question to anyone out there who has experience using Vertical Mapper
for displaying 3D images of the seafloor:

My problem is this: I can create grids of sounding data to show
seafloor relief (derived from multibeam or single-beam data files),
however, when I want to display this data with drape files (i.e.
airphotos) it appears in the 3D viewer as if the seafloor is raised
above the ground. My data for the sounding depths is negative, so why
doesn't it appear to 'sink' below the airphoto (which I would presume
should be defaulted to ground level; or 'zero'). I can't seem to get
any of my drape files (charts, air photos, etc.) to display so the
sounding depths appear to be 'below' them.

Any suggestions, or am I out of luck?

Thanks,

Scott
