Thanks Steve, now I know I am on the right track. One quick question
though. I see how I would add a new row to the table, but how would I
read from the table as well. Specifically what is the command to pull
the values from a certain column so they could be used in a popupmenu.
Thanks again,
Alan

That's exactly what we do. Store it in an external tab. When Mapinfo
opens,
blow away the entry so it's a clean slate every time. Store the whole
file
name so you can drill them back to the subdirectory they were is as
well.

Subject: MI-L Save As

Part of this program that I am working on allows the user to start a
predefined redistricter, choosing the source from a popupmenu. The other
part saves a copy of the redistricted source, reverts the source,
prompts
the user for the name and opens the new copy up. My question is how do I
store the name that was entered in the "save copy as" (the new
source) dialog to be selected in the popupmenu later (for choosing what
to
redistrict)? This is one of my first real programs, and I am guessing it
could be written to and read from an external tab, but I really don't
have a
clue. Any hints on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Alan
