Dear List Thank you to all those who replied to my plea - Thanks particularly to Peter who suggested that I look again at the 52 rows and try to work out what I have - he gave a fantastic list of checks which I will keep and refer to!! Such a stupid error on my part - I was grouping the rows in the query. I removed that and got my 201,776 rows - and very quickly.
Interestingly, having received the data from friend with ArcView it actually was not all there in their final table!! - Hence I had to go back this week and try to solve the problem in MI. Still not sure why the combine took so long though ... Anyway I do have a good boundary from ArcView for that. Cheers Jacqui Middleton
