MapInfo 7.8 has a setting for the resolution of a map when either exported or
copied.

You'll find this setting under Preferences > System Settings where you'll find
the item "Windows Export and Clipboard resolution"

Maybe changing this values will improve the resolution in Corel.

Subject: MI-L Linked Corel v11 files in Mapinfo 7.8 (fwd)

Forwarded message for Graeme Parry (please do not respond to Bill Thoen):

Hello folks

I have searched the Mapinfo-L list for help with my question but have never
found one. When I insert a linked Mapinfo v7.8 map in Coreldraw v11, under
WinXP, the objects look and print very jagged. If I open the link and zoom in
the quality improves, but this is not helpful if I need to see a larger area.
It's like the map is being generalized very poorly. I thought perhaps there was
some node tolerance that I could adjust in Corel but no luck. I had the same
problem when I used Corel v10, Mapinfo 7.0, and Win2000 prof NT, but now the
jaggedness is far worse. The map is of poor quality even when I insert it in
Powerpoint which leads me to believe it's a Mapinfo setting. I thought this
might be related to the bounds of the map I'm importing, so I optimized them in
hopes to maximize grid granularity, using the coordsys bounds tool that came
with Mapinfo, and re-inserted. No effect, unfortunately. Any ideas?

Thanks

Graeme Parry
