Dear list I have two huge and complicated original habitat datasets (vector polygons). I have habitats A - Z in each. I also have centroid Map Plot of these two datasets. I was wondering if I can use the original habitat data sets to find out how key habitats have changed and what they have changed to or can I only use the Map Plot datasets to do this? - Using the Map Plots is relatively straightforward and I have no problem with that. But, the original dataset calculations pose more problems. The kind of calculation I wish to perform is regarding (e.g.) habitat A in 1991 - what habitats has A changed to in 2001 and what are the hectarages of each of these new habitats? - as I mentioned this is easy using the Map Plot.
Is this why a more generalised representation of the data in Map Plot form is used in order to investigate change over time? Any ideas? Cheers Jacqui Middleton
