Dear List

I have a habitat layer (MAP PLOT) and another layer of many polygons - Sites of
Special Scientific Interest. The habitat layer is continuous but I am only
interested in the habitat area under the SSSIs (for this query). It seems I
can only investigate change using the centroid Map Plot (hectare squares with
attribute data) and so I can not use a proper digitised habitat dataset for
this query.

There appear to be many ways to do this but has anyone got a quick and accurate
solution? I have been looking at the Cookie Cutter (wouldn't do it - in a
relatively short time - maybe it can't be used to cut multiple polygons?);
Querying (presently trying out one using "Intersect obj" which is taking ages
but may work); Buffering? Thematic maps? Deleting outside object and so on ...

Any ideas gratefully received.

Cheers
