FYI. The people at Amber IQ did not invent the original Vertical Mapper. It
was developed by Northwood Technologies which was later bought by Marconi
Inc.

Subject: MI-L Amber IQ - Vertical Mapper on Steroids

I was able to see a live Amber IQ demo just the other day after seeing
Bill's post here. I was also very impressed with the capabilities and
ease-of-use compared to legacy GIS packages.

The current version of Amber IQ is like Vertical Mapper on steroids, but I
see it evolving into a more comprehensive next generation GIS package that
will compete head-on with MapInfo and ArcGIS as AmberCore will continue to
push the limits of GIS capabilities...making flat static maps a thing of the
past.

It is a refreshing breeze of innovation in the doldrums of GIS today.

Subject: Re: MI-L Vertical Mapper Contour Problems

Bill suggested AmberCore Inc as a alternative for Vertical mapper.

I went on the web site and downloaded a free trial copy.
I'm now in a testing phase
Having used vertical mapper for the last 7 years I can say that Amber IQ
looks to be very promissing!!
Up to this point I'm very impressed.

www.ambercore.com
It's worth a try..

Thank you Bill and thank you Ambercore.
