We would like to use the more advanced features available in MapInfo 7.5 and beyond, so I am currently investigating running MapInfo Professional 7.5 with our conservation GIS application (written in Visual Basic 6 and MapBasic). Currently our live version works fine when running with MapInfo Professional 6.0 (using Sybase ASE 12.0 and Autometrics SQS on a Unix platform). However, the ODBC driver (MERANT 3.60) supplied in MapInfo 6.0 is no longer supplied with MapInfo after version 7.0. When I rebuild the application using the old driver I get errors informing that I have no license for the ODBC driver. So can anyone tell me if they have overcome the problem of running MapInfo 7.5 with Sybase and SQS? Thanks!!
