I did not say ugly, just said odd; as far as I remember, it is a while ago with v 6.0 (a collegue of mine had the same feedback as I asked her to test it): - all handling in general reminded me of CAD and it is completely unusual for a GIS (knowing ArcView, MapInfo an co. this is a completely different approach, and to me an odd one and absolutely not intuitive) - thematic mapping was implemented in a completely a weard way - layouting for output was totally useless (printing is crucial for a lot of our clients), couldn't do anything with that - poor performance on large datasets (compared to MI, however better then slow arcview) - and much more, but I gave up pretty quickly ... I am very open to new products and I bought new Manifold versions a few times (never give up), however it never got me excited at all.
