Hi All!

I respectfully disagree. There are a number of other GIS and MapInfo
related forums or websites that can handle stuff that goes beyond the scope
of textbased e-mails.
Take directionsmag or Jacques Paris' sites as a couple of examples.
If you really need to share some graphics, or code with some parties on the
list, you could always arrange to communicate with personal e-mails, and
then the danger of Internet diseases will be your concern.
Else, as some do, you could include a link to some external site where
people could see or d/l your stuff.
And let's not forget Bill Thoen - I doubt that he needs the added onus of
maintaining a service like Niel suggests.
No, let's keep MI-L as it is, as long as Bill cares to run it.

I agree on this one.

Maybe the list could grow into holding graphics, code snippets, sample
programs and so on. I don't know if it would be wise to keep e-mailing all
this around, but sending an index mail of the daily posts would be good. We
might also consider using something like atlassian JIRA (www.atlassian.com)
which makes it great to maintain subjects in groups with status, replies
and
all hooked together.

Kind regards,

Milo

I was wondering if a list like this one might one day lift the "List" game
a
bit? With all the really neat stuff going on related to faster and faster
internet connections generally, it might be informative as well as fun if
the visual stuff we get so involved in might be shared and issues
illustrated? Or are we so intimidated by spreading internet diseases that
we must continue to exist only on TXT oatmeal without even raisins or brown
sugar?
