This is a known "feature".

You can use the find function on Oracle Spatial Tables, if you use
linked/download instead of Live access. With linked tables you can add an index
on columns.
The problem is that MapInfo needs a index on the table to search and MapInfo
can't use the Oracle index for this

Subject: MI-L Query Find function in MapInfo with Oracle Spatial tables

MapInfo Users

We are using MapInfo Pro. to access Oracle Spatial tables.

One of our users has pointed out to me that they cannot use the Query / Find
function when using Oracle Spatial tables.

Is this a common problem and is this something our DBA can do to rectify this
problem.

The Query / Find function works perfectly with MapInfo tables in their native
format.

Any solutions or suggestions would be useful.

Thanks.

Vinesh
