Hi Martin

I just did a File -> Save Copy as...
Now I've done a File -> Save Query -> Save as

and my table is a map again!

You are right on the Foxpro angle. The route-ESU table can be built up
manually inmy FP app, by assigning ESUs to routes. Thus when I enter
the MI app, I need to make sure any updates from the FP side were being
carried over. So I was being dumb and just overwriting my MI-side
version with the FP-side, thus, with FP having no graphics, destroying
the objects. Then I found I didn't know how to get them back!

Anyway, now I can just rename my newly created map to the ruined one and
I should be OK

Thanks a lot, and thanks again to Peter and Spenser for their extra
offerings

Terry

If you save the results of the query as a new table, the graphics should
still be there when its reopened.

I don't keep copies of the Mapinfo-L emails and the Directionsmag site
seems to be down, but I seem to remember in your original query the
mention of some use of FoxPro. My guess is that whatever happens in
FoxPro deletes the graphics.

If the query was within a workspace, then the mappable table would be
regenerated every time the workspace was opened. This may provide a
workaround to keep the foxpro (data) and mapinfo (graphical) parts
seperate.

Hope this helps
