Søren,

That helps a lot. Now how do I change the default directory to one on the
network?

Hi Rob,

To my knowledge it's only possible to do this with mapbasic

You'll find your user's custom symbols with:

LocateFile$(LOCATE_CUSTSYMB_DIR)

Then you can have a directory on a network drive with all not MI standard
symbols that you copy to the above path.
You can launch the app through a workspace.

Dear List,

Does anyone know of a way of using custom symbols globally across a network?
Also is there an easy way to keep my own custom labels when a new version of
Mapinfo is loaded - and why do they move the CUSTSYMB directory between
versions and not tell you?

Also does anyone out there know of a good symbol set for Australian Local
Government and traffic signs suitable for Mapinfo?

Thank you
