Andrew,
Try using the tool - 'Coordinate Extractor' from Tools > Tool Manager.
It is an automated easy of updating your columns
This utility adds two columns to an open table and updates each column
with X and Y coordinates in the table's native projection.
Kind Regards

Subject: MI-L Updating easting and northing fields
Dear All,
I have a table with a number of points (approx 1000) on the map layer. I
want to add 2 new columns and fill them with the "Easting" and
"Northing" co-ordinates. I have added the 2 columns, however I am having
problems populating the two fields.
When I go to:
table - update column - 'Select my table to update' - then select the
'Easting' collumn
I then thought that I would get the value by going to assist and get the
value from 'CentroidX'
However when I do this it populates the easting and northing field with
1 and -1. I require a 6 figure number for each field.
Also note that I have set my field as an integer and that my projection
is British National Grid.
I understand that this is a very simple request but would appreciate it
if anyone could help me.
Thanks.
