Well, MapInfo can Import OSGB GML 2.1, but I wouldn't count on MapInfo being 
able to import any type of GML ...

You are right GML might be a suggestion, but then we all need to convert these 
files to a different format. I don't think users could live with the GML format 
as a working format !!??

Another format could be ORacle Spatial, but the question is whether you 
actually can call this an open format ?
