Hi All! No, Morten, I would advise against that. A workspace with 1000 layers is not lightly tampered with. Especially if thematic mapping is involved. Remember that a workspace file keeps numbers, not names for each layer, and uses the layer number for the shade (thematic mapping) command. Thus, if you want to run a macro that sorts the layers, you need to maintain the layer numbers, so that layer 100 still is layer 100 even if layer 99 has been moved or erased. Many things would be easier if the layers were named, which is possible programatically but not the case when Pro itself makes the wor file.
Another thing is why Philip has to do this? I guess he adds a table and the table gets inserted in the wrong place and needs to be moved. It seems that the thing to do then is to program the opening and adding of the table/layer to the mapper window so that the layer is placed right from the start. Well it's probably not the best approach, bot you could do it in the workspace file instead. I'd bet you can make an UltraEdit macro that does the trick for you. /Morten --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 18366
