When you import a raster file in MapInfo, a table is created (a file
ending with *.tab). This file can be opened with a text editor, for
instance Wordpad or note pad in Window.
Here is how things may look, with the coordinates of your control points
appearing after the Type "RASTER" command :
!table
!version 300
!charset WindowsLatin1
Definition Table
File "condeminesplan.jpg"
Type "RASTER"
(900,400) (180,63) Label "Pt 1",
(1100,400) (226,63) Label "Pt 2",
(1100,600) (226,104) Label "Pt 3",
(900,600) (180,104) Label "Pt 4"
CoordSys NonEarth Units "cm"
Units "cm"
Apparently there is something wrong with your coordinates, since MapInfo
thinks they are building a line. If you are sure that your points are
correct, check the units and the system of coordinates in use, both for
the TIF file, the map and the map preference for new files. If you do
still have your original tif file and if you have a quick way to
determinate your coordinates, it's not a big thing to recreate the table
containing the definition for the raster table.

Objet : MI-L Problem opening a .tiff file
Can anyone assist with a small problem? Whenever I try to open a .tif
file,
and associated .tab file. MapInfo says, 'The image control points cannot
be
in a straight line'.
I know that the files were created using MapInfo, how can I get to view
this
information again using MapInfo?
Regards
