Hello-

I am trying to develop an integrating mapping application for crime analysis. I
develop it using VB and mi6.5 working behind. I have accomplished thematic
mapping for certain types of crime for a period of time. However, my boss (ms
thesis advisor) asks me to expand to more complicated analysis. So far, I have
added finding involved persons: when the user clicked on a point feature (the
crime data incident), the involved persons appear in the map with tabular
information (mi callback function). and I utilize MI bar chart tool when the
user clicks on a district bar-chart information appears. Also the user can
easily navigate in the map not only the classic tools(pan zoom etc.) but also
selecting their names next to my map frame.

Now I would like to ask

as if you consider me not to know anything about:

point pattern analysis

spatial moving average

and other types of density based analysis

what could you to recommend me to develop new analysis capabilities?

For instance I thought I could develop much intense thematic mapping or new
tool such as using area information too. (crime population / area of district
for thematic mapping)

What does MI have for crime analysis?

What else can I add with just using MI 6.5 behind? Or should I need any newer
versions specifically for crime mapping?

Any suggestions will be gratefully welcomed.

Emre
