Hi List!
I'm all in favor of keeping this as a single list.
I find it rather easy to scroll through the headings and determine which are of interest to me, the rest I simply erase.
I think us users generally provides descriptive subject lines, so it works rather well.
I can compare to the Bentley Microstation forum. This is a newsgroup system, but the same principles apply.
They use to set up specialized groups for different products, or programming issues, system administration and so on.
During a beta phase groups are created for such discussions.
But I often find that a question is cross-posted to several groups because the poster wants a broader scope, or is unable to label his problem in one group only.
People who respond of course do that in the group where they read the question, losing the thread for the other groups.
Sometimes, as often happens on MI-L a thread veers off in a new direction, perhaps not at all relevant for the group heading.
Also, the system administrators closes and renames the groups at will, causing even more confusion.
Of course, we are far from such a situation, but splitting into two is a beginning, and I have no problems coping with the daily number of mails as it is.
But some kind of a backup system would be nice,
Hälsning / Best regards Mats.E
