Hi

proviewer is not on the client machine, everything runs from the CD. The .WOR files will open, but only if the 'opens with:' property of the file is changed while the CD is in that particular machine.

I think I need to have something that runs when the CD is inserted to automatically alter this property

Cheers

Greg

Hi Greg!

You need to clarify:

Is Proviewer installed on the client machine, and does it open a local
wor-file there, the way you want it? (not on CDs)

[Mapinfo-l] Workspaces with Proviewer on CD

Hi,

I have created a CD of Workspaces, and included all files on the CD needed

for Proviewer. This is to go to a client, and I want the CD to open
automatically to a PDF when inserted and have buttons that when clicked
open
the specified workspace in proviewer. This works perfectly on PCs which
already have .WOR files set to open with mapinfo, but when I try to use
the
CD on other PCs the workspaces wont open just by clicking the button in
the
pdf. This is because the 'opens with:' property of the .WOR files is not
set to anything and in order to open the workspace this property needs to
be
changed manually. What I want to find out is if anyone has tried this
before, and if there is a way of automatically altering the 'opens with:'
file properties when the CD is inserted.

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Greg
